ATTENDING AN ARIANE LAUNCH       arianeD1161.jpg (18545 octets)

Very high technology events, the ARIANE launches are planned at an average rate of 5 to 7 per year.

The launch manifest is issued few months in advance ; nevertheless, the dates may be modified for operational or technical reasons.

Let's point out that, from a more than 10 years experience of operational activities, ARIANE appears to be one of the most ponctual space launchers in the world.

FOR A GIVEN TARGETED LAUNCH :

- Up to 3 months ahead, the probability for the launch to occur effectively within the 7 days following the planned date is around 75 %.

- One month ahead, the probability for the launch to occur effectively within these 7 days raises up to 80%.

A residual risk (around 10%) subsists anyway that the attendance to the launch is not possible during the stay. A space launch cannot and will never be guaranteed at a given date or during a given period of time.

A space launch cannot and will never be guaranteed at a given date or during a given period of time.

Our journey's programs are determined taking into account the risk of a delay in the launch by 1 or 2 days ; (for programs showing the launch date on day 2 or 3).

Our customers whishing to attend a launch must be informed that if probability to effectively attend is high (around 90%), it can in no case be guaranteed.

SOME PRÉCISIONS

Most of launches occur during week days and by night.

One external close range VIP site (6,5 km from launch pad) offers more than 500 places (16 years minimum ; other sites accept from 8 years on). The sites are equiped with very large bell tents, toilets and seats.
